TIPPERARY’S Denis Lynch gave Ireland its only show jumping Grand Prix victory of the weekend, when finishing first at the three-star show in San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy this evening (Sunday).
The German-based rider, who turned 38 last week, was piloting the chestnut mare Coulisa, whom he added to his top string in 2012.
Lynch, who collected 8,750 euro for his win, saw off German challenger Hans-Dieter Dreher and Embassy II by just over a fifth of a second in the final round of the two-round contest.
Elsewhere, fellow Tipperary rider Shane Breen took ninth place in the three-star Grand Prix at Toulouse in France aboard Farao vt Vennehof, while Michael Duffy finished in 11th on Calido Boy.
