Co Louth’s Mark McAuley scored a comprehensive victory in today’s (Sunday) three-star Grand Prix at Drammen in Norway, producing the only double clear round of the competition with Jasco Vd Bisschop to collect the top prize.
Five combinations jumped clear in the opening round but McAuley and the nine-year-old gelding, who is owned by Eva Lundin, came out on top with a clear jump-off round in 56.30 seconds. French rider Titouan Schumacher and Atome Z finished as runners-up, while home favourite Geir Gulliksen took third place on the podium with VDL Groep Quatro.
Meanwhile in Eventing, Meath’s Sarah Ennis and Horseware Stellor Rebound (ISH) claimed an impressive runner-up finish in the CIC3* Event Rider Masters at Chatsworth in the UK.
