IRELAND’s Richie Moloney took third place in last night’s (Saturday) $127,000 three-star Grand Prix at Tryon, North Carolina, while David Blake added to the Irish haul by taking sixth.
Kilkenny-born Maloney, riding Equanimity LLC’s Call Me Number One was one of only four double-clears in the event, and his time of 54.351 was bettered only by New Zealand’s Sharn Wordley on Casper and American Schuyler Riley who took top spot on Q-7 in a time of 50.627.
David Blake also made the jump-off with Pine Hollow’s Binkie, but while the Clare rider put in a lighting-fast round, four faults meant he had to settle for 6th place at the finish.
