Murray lands AIRC National Dressage title

DONNA Murray stole the show at the Equilibrium sponsored National Dressage Championships last Sunday at Grove near Fethard, Co. Tipperary after a number of stunning performances.
The Dalysgrove member recorded almost 80% in her morning test on Temple Troy giving Murray a comfortable lead over her rivals in the Equilibrium Primary championship.
The nine year old gelding again impressed in the afternoon as Murray produced another stunning performance to finish on an average of 76.28%, well ahead of second placed Ann Murphy (Kyleshirane Louis) from Anvil on 69.32%.
Murray wasn’t expecting to win as she said afterwards, “it came as a shock as I was up against some great competitors. I’m delighted with the result, Temple Troy was very co-operative in the morning and was still trying his best by evening.”
“We got a lesson two weeks before the championships and the tips I got from that really helped today,” she added.
Killcarrick Riding Club recorded a narrow victory in the Team Championship.
Almost 500 tests were ridden at the championships which took place at Grove near Fethard, Co. Tipperary where just over one percent separated the top three teams.
The quartet of Patricia McGlynn (Phoenix Princess), Lisa Molloy (Dame Monte Cristo), Michelle Byrne (Baltyboys Mastered) and Susann Killilea (Landanos Rolling Clover) recorded a combined average of 69.69% when the best three scores were taken into account.
