Official FEI Pony Measuring Session

  • 14 February 2020, 09:30

Deadline for applications is 11am on Monday 24th February 2020.

As IRL Stakeholders are aware, a new FEI Pony Measuring System is effective since 1st January 2020. A transition period for Ponies already registered with the FEI will be in place until 31st December 2022, after which the new system will be fully implemented.

Cavan Equestrian Centre is formally approved as the IRL FEI Pony Measuring Centre. Pony Owners should note that all new Pony registrations [Ponies registered from 1st Jan 2020 and never previously registered before that date] must measure at an Official FEI Measuring Session in order to compete at FEI Pony Events in 2020 and beyond. Stakeholders should consult the FEI guidelines on the Pony Measuring System. Please note, ponies presenting at next weeks pony measuring at Cavan wont need an FEI passport but will need an FEI registration for 2020. Please print the “Horse Passport and Registration form” for 2020 out, fill it out and sign it and send it via email (skillilea@horsesportireland.ie) or drop it in to Horse Sport Ireland, together with the pony’s marking chart, breeding page and naming page. The charge for a 2020 pony registration is 40 Euro. For more info, click here.

Further information from the FEI website can be found here.

The 2020 session will be held on Wednesday 26th February 2020 from 9.30am, in Cavan Equestrian Centre.

At that session, Measured In Ponies will receive a FEI Measuring Certificate according to their age (8 years or older will receive a lifetime certificate, younger will get a 1 year certificate).

The cost per Pony is 140 Euro which includes a day stable. Pony Owners must ensure that their Pony holds a current FEI ID registration in order to be measured and that the National Passport of the Pony is presented on the day. No National Passport, no measuring.

Pony Owners are required to book their place online via the Cavan Equestrian Centre website.
