Punchestown Horse Sport Ireland Six-Year-Old Class
- 15 July 2020, 12:51
The organisers of Punchestown One Day Event and Horse Sport Ireland are pleased to announce a six-year-old development class for horses bred and foaled in Ireland and registered in an approved DAFM studbook.
The classes will run on the 26th of July and the 9th of August in Punchestown under Eventing Ireland rules.
A portion of the €3,000 prize fund will be awarded to the breeders of the leading horses in each class to recognise the contribution breeders make to eventing, with an additional breeders’ prize to the leading horse over the two events.
Entries for the six-year-old class will be reopened on the Eventing Ireland website to facilitate additional entries.
Horse Sport Ireland’s Director of Breeding and Programmes Alison Corbally said “I am delighted to see Eventing returning to Punchestown. We are delighted to be able to aid breeders in adding value to their horses and help by offering a competitive platform for them to showcase their produce.”
The success of Irish-bred horses is recognised internationally and Punchestown organisers are delighted that Horse Sport Ireland have agreed to support this class.
