A RECORD number of clubs affiliated to the Association of Irish Riding Clubs so far this year.
The latest club to register with the Association, Cleggan Bay Riding Club, is based in county Galway and brings the total number of clubs to 136.
Earlier this year, two new clubs formed – Castledermot Riding Club in Kildare and Inishowen in Donegal.
A number of other applications to set up clubs in Kilkenny, Mayo and Westmeath are under review.
A.I.R.C. chairman Tony Ennis said, “It’s a credit to the organisation that we continue to grow and develop in these difficult times.”
“It’s another positive step for the organisation to have 136 clubs affiliated around the country and with more in the pipeline, we hope we can build on this achievement”.
