Richard Howley and Chinook complete Spanish double of victories

Sligo’s Richard Howley maintained his excellent recent run of form, scoring a win in yesterday’s (Sunday) 1m50 three-star Grand Prix at the Costa Del Sol Equestrian Tour in Mijas, Spain.
Howley partnered Chinook (pictured above) to the fastest double clear round in 39.34 seconds, to take the winners prize of €10,000. They finished two seconds ahead of Belgian runner-up Viktor Daem riding Bacardi, while Britain’s Peter Charles took third spot on the podium with The Irish Sport Horse ABC Quantum Cruise, who was bred in Co Carlow by Pat Kehoe. Richard Howley and Chinook also won the 1m45 class at the same Spanish venue on Friday.
