BANDON’S Trish Ryan finished third at the three-star class in
Ballindenisk, Co. Cork today (Sunday) after dislodging two poles in the
final show jumping phase.

Leading through dressage and cross country, the Cork rider had less than
one penalty point in hand this morning over British challenger, European
team gold medallist Oliver Townend with Cooley SRS.

Ryan, riding the Irish Sport Horse Tullineaskey Hi Ho, saw her eight
faults in the show jumping phase drop her two places on the leaderboard,
with Townend on a clear round claiming the winner’s rosette, while
Belgium’s Stephanie D’Andrimont and Alexander IV collected four faults
today to bring the combination into second place.

Carlow’s Sam Watson, however, maintained his overnight top five places
with two clear rounds, one on Imperial Sky (ISH)(TIH) to finish in
fourth, and one on Horseware Bushman (ISH)(TIH) to claim fifth.

Britain’s Izzy Taylor held on to her overnight first place in the CCI2*
at Ballindenisk with Be Touchable, while fellow British rider Matthew
Wright won the CCI1* with Rakam D’Emra.

The CIC3* competition was won by New Zealand’s Mark Todd and NZB
Campino, with Joseph Murphy and Westwinds Hercules (ISH) the best of the
Irish in fourth place.

In the CIC2* class, Ireland’s Cathal Daniels held onto his dressage
score on Sammy Davis Junior (ISH) to claim the trophy, with Lucy Latta
and Cleo Ferro (ISH) in second, and Sam Watson with Tullabeg Flamenco in
third.

The USA’s Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp won the CIC1* at Ballindenisk,
finishing all three phases on a total of 42.1 with the bay gelding
Oskar.
