Second Win for Reynolds in New York

Ireland’s Judy Reynolds claimed her second win of the weekend on Saturday night at the Rolex Central Park CDI4*, New York, USA. Reynolds riding her Olympic mount, Vancouver K, a 14 year old gelding, owned by Joe and Kathleen Reynolds scored a 77.051% to secure a win in the Open FEI Dressage Freestyle, Reynolds riding Vancouver K were also winners of the Open Dressage Grand Prix CDI 4*, on Friday.
Seven entries performed their Grand Prix freestyles pieces to music under the lights in New York City on Saturday evening for the $75,000 competition. Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfen took second place to finish with a score of 76.65% while third place was awarded to Denmark’s Mikala Gundersen with a score of 72.400%.
Freestyle winners Vancouver K and Judy Reynolds represented Ireland at last months Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and then had a short break before making the journey to New York City.
Speaking about the event, Reynolds said; “I was probably a little bit more nervous tonight because I wanted to win again. I knew we had the capacity to do it, so I wanted to produce the performance of the night and I put more pressure on myself”
“For Ireland it is quite historic. I don’t think anybody has ever won two classes in one weekend at a CDI, so it’s nice to have done that” she said.
The combnation’s next stop is the Dressage at Devon CDI-W in Pennsylvania, USA.
