SPLAINE ANNOUNCES IRISH SHOW JUMPING TEAM FOR WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES

IRELAND’S show jumping manager Robert Splaine has announced the team of four who will represent their country at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy next week.

Ireland will compete, in alphabetical order, as:

Bertram Allen with Ballywalter Farms’s Molly Malone V
Cameron Hanley with Eleonore Paschoud and Yves Bouvier’s Antello Z
Darragh Kenny with Hyperion Stud’s Imothep
Denis Lynch with Thomas Straumann’s All Star 5

The travelling reserve for the Irish team will be Conor Swail with Ariel and Susan Grange’s Lansdowne.

The show jumping section of the World Equestrian Games takes place in the D’Ornano Stadium starting on Tuesday September 2 with a speed competition. Wednesday and Thursday will see the first Individual Qualifier and Team competition, with the third Individual Qualifying competition on Saturday and the Individual Final on Sunday September 7.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy brings together close to 1,000 riders and 1,000 horses from 74 nations for 15 days of world-class competition. The World Equestrian Games take place every four years, halfway between sets of consecutive Summer Olympic Games, and are administered by the world governing body, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).
