SHOW jumping team manager Robert Splaine has today (Tuesday) named the Irish squad for the German Nations’ Cup in Mannheim that will take place on Saturday.
Mannheim replaces Aachen as the venue for the Cup this year, as Aachen will be hosting the 2015 European Show Jumping Championships in August.
The squad, from which Splaine will select a team of four, is:
Kevin Babington and Shorapur
Shane Breen and Golden Hawk
Cameron Hanley with Antello Z or Z Acodate DDL
Conor Swail and Grand Cru vd Vijf Eiken
Shane Sweetnam and Chaqui Z
Splaine said: “The German Nations Cup is always a major test for both horse and rider, and in the squad we have three combinations who this year have competed exclusively on the North American circuit.
“Similar to last year I chose to compete at the German Nations’ Cup, as with the European Championship selections imminent it works very well with our overall plan.”
