IRELAND’S show jumping manager Robert Splaine today (Friday) confirmed his selections for the two upcoming Longines FEI World Cup shows in Oslo, Norway and Helsinki, Finland.
For the Oslo event, which opens the season next week, Ireland will be represented by Shane Breen and Billy Twomey, and the same pair will travel on to compete at Helsinki the following week.
Splaine said today: “Because of the large distances involved, it makes sense logistically to select the same two riders for both of these northern European World Cup shows each year.”
The 2015/2016 World Cup season features 11 five-star qualifiers, the last being in Bordeaux, France in February 2016, with six to count for overall standings. The World Cup final will taken place in Gothenburg, Sweden in March of next year.
