- 3 September 2018, 14:20
Horse Sport Ireland and the Irish Draught Horse Studbook sponsored yesterdays Irish Draught National Championships in Punchestown. The ID side saddle class had a total of ten participants with the Traditional Irish working Hunter class having a total of fourteen.
Una Holohan the National Show Secretary said ‘The IDHBA National Show continues to go from strength to strength. The quality of Irish Draught horses at this year’s show was outstanding. Judges, exhibitors and spectators have all commented on the exceptional standard of horses across all classes with many saying they were the best classes they have seen anywhere this year or last. Our UK judges were all extremely impressed and unanimous in their opinion that the best Irish Draughts are definitely still here in Ireland! Thanks to continued sponsorship from sponsors such as HSI’s breeding fund, the IDHBA National Show has truly established itself as the premier event to crown national champions.”
