Horse Sport Ireland are delighted to announce that the €20,000 bonus incentive scheme (€10,000 for Eventing & €10,000 for Show Jumping), aimed at attracting more international riders and in turn increasing entries at International Eventing and Show Jumping venues in Ireland, is running again in 2019.

See below for the current standings

The Horse Sport Ireland Eventing and Horse Sport Ireland Jumping Challenge, is a link of Irish international events and is sponsored by the Irish National Federation, Horse Sport Ireland.

All athletes participating in the stated classes are eligible for a €10,000 prize bonus regardless of nationality. This will encourage athletes to make multiple entries at Irish events in a bid to win the €10,000 bonus.

The 2018 Eventing bonus of €10,000 was claimed by Australia’s Kevin McNabb. McNabb finished in podium position at Kilguilkey CIC2*, Camphire CIC2* and Tattersalls CCI2*.

Speaking about the Irish International Events and the Horse Sport Ireland Eventing Challenge, McNab commented:

“I have definitely enjoyed the Irish events. There is always a great atmosphere and they are very rider-friendly events which I really like coming to. As well as that, I feel my horses have always come away as better horses for running at these events. I think the series has been great, and going forward it will certainly attract riders from abroad.”

Horse Sport Ireland International Eventing Bonus Challenge Standings:

The third leg of the Horse Sport Ireland Eventing Bonus Challenge 2019 took place last weekend at Kilguilkey International Horse Trials, Mallow, Co. Cork. Points were awarded in the CCI3* short format competition. Kevin McNab (AUS) claimed the top podium position to start his pursuit in reclaiming his 2018 title. Sam Watson (IRL) placed second gaining valuable points and taking the lead in the challenge with 110 points. Watson needs to claim just one more podium position to fulfil the requirements and stay on top of the leader board to claim the €10,000 bonus. With three events left in the challenge, there are still plenty of opportunities for anyone to claim the title.

To be eligible for the €10,000 Prize Bonus, riders must achieve a podium finish in three classes at three separate events in International CCI3* Events in Ireland and only a rider’s three highest placings can be counted. All riders are able to compete for the Bonus, regardless of nationality.

The next leg of the Horse Sport Ireland Eventing Bonus Challenge will be at Camphire International Horse Trials (Cappoquin) 24th – 28th July.
