Irish Dressage riders Heike Holstein and Dane Rawlins have both finished inside the top 10 in this evening’s (Thursday) four-star Al Shira’aa-sponsored Grand Prix at Windsor in the UK.

Holstein scored 70.37% with Sambuca to claim an impressive fifth place finish, while Rawlins and Espoire finished ninth on 66.609% – a score which qualifies them for the 2019 FEI European Dressage Championships

The winners prize went to Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Erlentanz on a score of 78.087%. Windsor’s Al Shira’aa Grand Prix Freestyle to Music takes place on Friday.

Dane Rawlins is the fourth Irish rider to qualify for the 2019 FEI European Dressage Championships joining FEI World Cup finalist Judy Reynolds, twelve-time national champion Heike Holstein and former national champion Kate Dwyer. Irish Olympian Anna Merveldt and Esporim achieved the first of two qualifying scores required for the 2019 FEI European Dressage Championships at Mannheim CDI4* in Germany last weekend.
