Top 5 places for Irish Riders at Blair Castle

IRISH riders pulled off two top five places at the prestigious Blair Castle Horse Trials in Scotland this weekend.

Army rider Capt. Geoff Curran took fifth place in the CIC3* competition with the Irish Sport Horse The Jump Jet, while fellow Irish rider Jonty Evan placed seventh with Double Dutch V. The three-star event was won by Britain’s Polly Stockton on Jeepers Creepers.

In the CCI2*, Ireland’s Elizabeth Hayden took fifth on board Classic Piper, with Tony Kennedy and the Irish Sport Horse Westeria Lane coming home in 11th and June Burgess with the Irish Sport Horse Obos Apollo taking 12th. Australian Andrew Hoy claimed the trophy with Cheeky Calimbo.

Deirdre Reilly was best of the Irish in the CCI3*, placing 12th on the Irish Sport Horse gelding Stormhill Lad. The competition was won by Britain’s Emily Galbraith and Timing.
