TREC Ireland announces International Young Rider Panel

TREC Ireland has announced the initial members of the Irish Young Riders panel for the competitive season 2013/14. The panel will train towards representing Ireland in International TREC competitions, commencing with the European Young Riders Cup which will be held in Belgium in September 2013.
The panel comprises the following members:
Clodagh Barry (Donegal)
Tolly Franklin (Cork)
Rohan Madhavan (Kildare)
Lisa Moore (Donegal)
Annie O’Neill (Cork)
Ciaran Smyth (Kildare)
Katie Smyth (Kildare)
The remaining places on the panel will be selected at the TREC Ireland skills weekend 29th – 31st March. The team travelling to Belgium in September will be chosen from the completed panel and will be announced in July at the TREC Ireland National Championships. TREC Ireland will hold a skills weekend aimed at international young riders and senior riders and riders competing at, or aiming to compete at, Level 3 from Friday the 29th of March to Sunday the 31st of March 2013. The camp will be held at Grangeclare Paddocks, Kells, Co. Meath by kind permission of Peter Mooney. The weekend schedule will include:
- PTV skills with Adrian Flynn and Winfried Bastian, TREC Ireland Directors and Coaches
- Control of Paces and PTV skills with Karen Murphy, Young Rider Training Co-ordinator
- Level 3 POR skills with Gwen Bastian, Young Rider Chef d’Equipe
- Guest Lecture: ‘Fittening a horse to Level 3’ Friday 29th (Good Friday)
- Dinner & Judging Discussion Saturday 30th
