FEI Clean Sport
The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) carries out testing on horses at international competitions. In 2012, 86
horses and ponies ridden by Irish riders in international competitions were tested by the FEI under their Controlled
Medication and Anti-Doping Programme. All of the samples taken were found to be clean when tested in FEI
laboratories. No horse ridden by an Irish rider has tested positive in an FEI competition since 2008.

In 2012, Horse Sport Ireland introduced a
National Anti-Doping Programme for horses
competing in equestrian competitions in Ireland.
The programme is run in conjunction with Horse
Sport Ireland's Affi
liate Bodies. The programme
was devised by the HSI Rules Committee. A
report on the programme is shown below.
