Parade was held on 23rd April 2013 and proved
once again to be a popular and colourful
spectacle. Now established as a highlight of the
Punchestown Festival, the parade presents the
full diversity of the Irish Equestrian sector. As well
as HSI Affiliates and Sections, this year saw the
inclusion of the Native Irish Breeds for the first
time. Dressed in competition attire, the line-up
entered the ring before the first race, led by the
Army Equitation School with the Garda Mounted
Unit bringing up the rear. Another highlight saw
Senior Showjumping Manager Robert Splaine
touring the ring with Cian O'Connor's Olympic
medal and the Aga Khan Trophy. Helen Kearney
was also present with her three Paralympic
medals on display.
