![]() carries out testing on horses at international competitions. Ireland is placed in Groups I and II for the FEI Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Programme (EADCMP). In 2013, a total of 3,982 horses were tested worldwide and 2,946 of those were within Groups I and II. Six of those tested from Groups I and II were horses and ponies ridden by Irish riders in international competitions. All of the samples taken were found to be clean when tested in FEI laboratories. No horse ridden by an Irish rider has tested positive in an FEI competition since 2008. Protection Basic Awareness Programme. The course is run in conjunction with the Irish Sports Council. From October to December 2013, Horse Sport Ireland hosted four courses which were offered to all Affiliate members. Vetting Unit (GCVU). The GCVU conducts Garda Vetting in respect of individuals who apply for positions whether they are full-time, part-time, voluntary or student placement within Affiliate organisations, whereby they may have unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults.
