FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships
for Young Horses ­ Lanaken
The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH)
Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) World Breeding
Jumping Championships for Young Horses, take place
annually in September in Lanaken, Belgium, where the world's
best five, six and seven-year-old showjumpers compete. All
horses must be registered in a WBFSH member studbook
and each country is given a quota for the number of horses
they can select to compete per age category. The 15 Irish
sport horses selected to compete in 2015 are shown on the
next page with their results.
The Irish Chef d'Équipe was Comdt John Ledingham. Below
is a graph showing the results from the Championships
between 2004 and 2015. In 2015, MHS Washington (ISH)
and Laura Renwick (GBR) claimed silver medal in the 7 Year
Old World Championship, while Ireland's Eoin McMahon
claimed bronze medal with Talks Cheap (ISH) in the same
Championship final.
