2025 Stallion Selections Timetable

The 2025 Horse Sport Ireland Stallion Selections are taking place in Cavan Equestrian Centre on March 20th and 21st.

This year, a total of 53 stallions will be presented for selection, including 22 Sport Horse stallions, one Thoroughbred stallion, 24 Irish Draught stallions, and 6 Sport Pony stallions.

This is the first time in several years that selections have exceeded 50 stallions entered. There will also be Irish Draught stallions presented on both days of the 2025 Stallion Selections due to the numbers of stallions presenting.

Horse Sport Ireland is also delighted to announce that this year, there will be a special presentation made to Moylough Supremacy (IDC1) on Day 1, Thursday, to acknowledge his recent Gold Merit award, and connections of Inisfree The Iron Cross (IDC1) will be in attendance too.
On Day 2, Friday, there will be presentations made to Sligo Candy Boy (ISH) for his recent 5* Merit award.
Botton Sitte (sBs) and Carrabis Z (ZANG) will also receive their official approval and acknowledgment of their 4* and 5* Merits respectively.

This year, there are several horses coming forward for Linear Profiling and to be officially Approved including the traditionally bred stallion Sir Jim Jim (ISH)[TIH].
