ISH & ID Mare Inspections

Background

Horse Sport Ireland will be holding Irish Sport Horse, Irish Sport Pony and Irish Draught Horse mare inspections throughout the country in Spring and Autumn in 2026. The Mare Inspections is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, under the Equine Technical Support Fund.

Closing date for receipt of applications is ONE week prior to inspection date;

Irish Cob & Irish Cob Part Bred Inspections

Background

Horse Sport Ireland will be holding Irish Cob and Irish Cob Part Bred inspections in April.  Please see important information below.

2026 Irish Cob Studbook Inspection dates:

  • Jag Equestrian, County Kildare, Tuesday 21st April
  • Coilog Equestrian, County Kildare, Tuesday 14th July

Please note that animals MUST have a passport in order to present for inspection.

Irish Cob animals must be a minimum of 2 years of age to be presented for inspection. Entries close 5 working days in advance of the inspection date. A minimum entry of 15 animals are required for each event to run

Horse Sport Ireland Irish Cob Stallion, Mare and Gelding Inspections are supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Equine Technical Support fund.
