Dag Albert has chosen a strong set of combinations for the Ireland Eventing team competing in the Nations Cup at CHIO Aachen next month.
Following an excellent 2024 season which yielded Nations Cup victories at home in Millstreet as well as in Boekelo, Netherlands, Albert has selected an experienced quartet for the German heat, including a Nations Cup debut in green for Georgie Goss.
Hopes will be high of a similar result after a third-place finish last year at Aachen and with Irish eventing on a roll following strong results at the Badminton five star.
With the world championships taking place in Aachen next year, the competition will be an opportunity for combinations to get an early eye on the venue, and Albert is looking forward to the competition.
The Irish Eventinig team for CHIO Aachen, in alphabetical order, is as follows:
- Ian Cassells – Millridge Atlantis (ISH)
- Sarah Ennis – Dourough Ferro Class Act (ISH)
- Georgie Goss – Kojak
- Padraig McCarthy – MGH Zabaione
Horse Sport Ireland High Performance Eventing Manager Albert said: “I’m very much looking forward to seeing these combinations compete in Aachen.
“All four combinations have strong form and there is plenty more to come from them – Aachen is always a great test of both horse and rider and I’m confident that this team can be competitive.”
