Horse Sport Ireland’s Young Event Horse Team Manager, Debbie Byrne, will host a Le Lion d’Angers viewing day on Monday, 12th August at Killossery Lodge Stud.
The viewing day is open to 6- and 7-year-old horses that are being aimed at the FEI WBFSH Young Event Horse World Breeding Championships in Le Lion d’Angers, France.
The day will be led by Debbie Byrne, with support from international dressage judge David Lee and 5* event rider and coach Terry Boon, who will provide guidance and feedback on a pre-selected championship dressage test.
Gerry Flynn, a seasoned eventer with experience up to World Championship level, and successful on Show Jumping Nations Cup teams, will assist with the show jumping phase. Providing feedback and advice to the riders on course walking, preparation and performance over the track.
Debbie Byrne will also be available to advise athletes and owners on preparation and planning towards championship participation.
Please note: Participation in the viewing day does not guarantee selection for the Le Lion d’Angers long list, short list, or final team. However, performance on the day may be considered as part of the selection process.
Entry fee: €120 per horse-and-rider combination (€100 + VAT).
This includes individual performance and feedback/coaching in the dressage and show jumping phases.
Deadline for registration: Wednesday, 6th August, to facilitate scheduling.
Please note: The event is subject to a minimum number of entries. Tests and timetabling will be confirmed closer to the date.
