Horse Sport Ireland (HSI), the National Governing Body for equestrian sport in Ireland has been officially accepted as a member of Guaranteed Irish – the national symbol of trust that represents businesses and organisations committed to delivering quality, creating sustainable employment, and supporting communities across Ireland.

The partnership was formally launched on Thursday at an event hosted by Guaranteed Irish at their Dublin city centre headquarters, attended by Denis Duggan, CEO of Horse Sport Ireland, Brid O’Connell, CEO of Guaranteed Irish and Avalon Everett, Chief Operations Officer at HSI.

Through its membership of Guaranteed Irish, Horse Sport Ireland will continue to champion the Irish horse and Irish equestrianism, ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-quality national services that sustain rural livelihoods, uphold international standards, and promote Ireland’s world-class equestrian reputation.

“We are delighted and honoured to now be part of the Guaranteed Irish community,” said HSI CEO Denis Duggan.

“This membership reinforces Horse Sport Ireland’s standing as the trusted national organisation delivering key equestrian services. It reflects the quality, integrity, and professionalism that define our work — whether we are issuing passports, registering breeders, supporting elite athletes, or protecting the heritage of the Irish horse.

“At its core, Horse Sport Ireland is a service delivery organisation, one that connects rural enterprise, community participation, and international achievement. Becoming part of the Guaranteed Irish family recognises that shared commitment to trust, quality, and Irish excellence,” concluded Mr. Duggan.

Brid O’Connell welcomed Horse Sport Ireland to the Guaranteed Irish network, saying: “We welcome Horse Sport Ireland to the Guaranteed Irish community. As the national governing body for equestrian sport, HSI represents an industry that is deeply rooted in Ireland’s heritage and rural economy, while also competing successfully on the global stage.”

“Their renewed commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community development aligns with Guaranteed Irish. We look forward to working with Denis and his team to further champion Irish sport horses and elevate Ireland’s reputation as a world leader in equestrian sport,” said Ms. O’Connell.

This membership acknowledges Horse Sport Ireland’s vital role as a service delivery organisation, responsible for managing and delivering a broad range of services that underpin Ireland’s equine and sporting landscape.

From the registration and issuance of equine passports to the operation of Ireland’s principal sport horse studbooks, HSI delivers trusted and internationally recognised services to thousands of breeders, owners, and athletes each year.

In addition to its studbook and registration functions, HSI provides a wide range of services — including coaching education, Olympic high-performance management, national breeding services, all aimed at supporting the development and promotion of the Irish horse and Irish equestrianism, both at home and abroad.

As part of its ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and customer experience, HSI is modernising how services are delivered through Horse Source, its new national federation digital service platform. The system enables faster passport applications, streamlined registration processes, and more direct engagement with breeders and horse owners, reflecting HSI’s dedication to transparency, efficiency, and service excellence across all areas of its work.
