Irish team drawn 11th of 18 to jump in CSIO3* Vejer Nations Cup

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping team competing at the Nations Cup in Vejer de la Frontera

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping team are set for CSIO3* action in the Nations Cup of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour tomorrow.

Chef d’Equipe Michael Blake has chosen a team of Mikey Pender, Jason Foley, Seamus Hughes Kennedy and Cian O’Connor for the Spanish three star competition, where they will face 17 other nations.

The Irish team has been drawn 11 of the 18 teams to jump and Blake is hopeful of yet another strong showing in what has been another fantastic season.

He said: “It’s a strong team we have chosen to compete here, Mikey and Cian have been performing very well for us in Nations Cups and have been showing excellent form around the world in 2024.

“Seamus and Jason have also been in great form and always do their best when chosen to wear the Charles Ancona green jacket so I’m looking forward to it tomorrow.”

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping Team in Vejer de la Frontera, in jumping order, is as follows:

• Kildare’s Mikey Pender with HHS Los Angeles (ISH), owned by Bravo Hughes Ltd.
• Carlow’s Jason Foley with Jacksonville Eurohill, owned by Guy Bloodstock and Christopher Burton.
• Seamus Hughes Kennedy with ESI Rocky (ISH), owned by Clare Hughes
• Cian O’Connor with Iron Man, owned by Karlswood Partners.
