The 2025 edition of the World Jumping Championships for Young Horses kicks off in the world-famous Zangersheide Stud in Lanaken tomorrow, September 25th.
This year, the show celebrates its 30th year of promoting the top young jumping horses across Europe.
Team Ireland’s Chef D’Equipe, Taylor Vard, has made some changes to the team representing the Irish WBFSH Studbooks, with BP Wishes (ISH) and Niamh McEvoy, as well as CSF Seaview (ISH) with Alan O’Regan join the 5-year-old team.
In the 6-year-olds, Tullibards Pandora (ISH) with Cathal Daniels, BP Hello Emerald (ISH) with Leah Stack and Lance Corporal (ISH) with Gemma Phelan have been called up to the expanded team, with MHS November Rain (ISH) and James Brennan as well as Kilnamac Cody (ISH) and Denis Lynch joining the 7-year-old division.
This year the Team Ireland Equestrian Young Horse Squad is supported by Monoshield Equine, helping the squad to arrive in the best shape to challenge for more medals.
Vard said: “We are looking forward to a good week and have a very strong squad between horses representing the Irish Studbooks and the FEI quota wildcards. It’s been a happy hunting ground for the last number of years and we hope that can continue in this 30th year.”
