Updated figures of passport applications processed on Horse Source – 12pm 29/11/24

Please see below, year-to-date figures of Foal Passports, which includes full pedigree and non-pedigree applications, and Other Services, which includes Changes of Ownership and Endorsements & Importations, processed through the Horse Source system.

Data is up to date as of 12pm Friday, 29th November, 2024, and updated figures will be provided on a weekly basis.

The registrations team at Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) continues to make progress in the processing of applications made by breeders through the Horse Source system, which can be seen by an increase in the number of applications completed and passports sent to customers.

Since the last update, provided on November 15th, almost 800 foal passport applications have been completed and sent to breeders, with a total of 2,057 now complete.

An additional 450 foal passports were issued via the previous system, between January and June, 2024.

There has been a total of 6,101 pedigree and non-pedigree applications received through Horse Source. So far, 3,819 foal kits have been returned from breeders to HSI.

While the overall delivery of foal passports has been slow, significant progress has been made in recent weeks and we are currently operating on a real-time basis with samples being sent to the laboratory.

This means that as samples are received by HSI, they are being processed within days of arrival and being sent for analysis within that same week, the knock-on effect being a reduction of waiting times for applications to be processed, where DNA analysis is complete, and passports being completed and sent to breeders.
