About Team Ireland
All Irish teams competing in FEI international competitions do so as part of Team Ireland. Team Ireland encompasses the Olympic disciplines of show jumping, eventing and dressage, the Paralympic discipline of para dressage and FEI disciplines of carriage driving, endurance and vaulting. It includes all senior teams and all underage teams – Young Riders (U21), Junior Riders (U18), Pony Riders (U16) and Children On Horses (U14). It also includes the Irish Sport Horse Studbook teams competing in show jumping and eventing World Young Horse Championships.
The Team Ireland brand has helped to create a real Irish presence at events and is important for team morale. Team Ireland was also created to attract sponsors to help support Team Ireland athletes. Another reason for developing the brand was to increase the profile of Ireland’s equestrian teams, riders and horses. Horse Sport Ireland has a seven-day-a-week press service in place and constantly strives to get more coverage of equestrian sport in the national newspapers, on radio and television. This service, which includes press releases and full coverage of results on the HSI website, is coupled with an Instagram, Twitter and Facebook service.
Horse Sport Ireland work in partnership with Sport Ireland and The Olympic Federation of Ireland to make performances that microsecond faster and millimetre further, to put more Team Ireland equestrian combinations on the podium.
