DENIS Lynch grabbed his second successive podium finish at the five-star meeting in La Coruna, Spain tonight (Saturday) when he guided Blue Silver to third place in the evening’s closing speed class, adding to yesterday’s third place for the pairing in another speed event.
The Tipperary rider had already been in the thick of tonight’s action with All Star in the Longines Grand Prix, held earlier in the evening. The combination went clear in the opening round, but one pole down in the decider saw them settle for an eighth place finish and a 12,500 euro purse. The Grand Prix was won by Dutch rider Lisa Nooren with Vdl Groep Sabech d’Ha.
The Irishman then brought out Blue Silver for the evening’s closing speed event, and second-last to go, went in chase of the clear round time of 56.28 set by Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten on Kisby. Lynch and his mount left all poles standing but the timer ticked on to 57.62, which was good enough for third place.
Denis Lynch finished third with Blue Silver in tonight's speed class at La Coruna - their second podium finish in a row at the venue.
