Murphy switches to European Championships

Eventing High Performance Manager Nick Turner has today announced that Joseph Murphy will reroute to Blair European Championships. Murphy will be stepping into Aoife Clark’s place as her mount, owned by Henrietta, Duchess of Bedford suffered a minor knock at training. Murphy has now withdrawn his mount Sportsfield Othello (ISH) from the CCI4* Burghley Horse Trials where he today completed the dressage phase on a score of 47.

Speaking about the change Turner said: “It has been a difficult decision to make but as the Championships are due to start Wednesday of next week I felt there was not enough time to give Vaguely North the time he needs without missing out on valuable training in the days leading up to the event. I would like to thank Jill Murphy, Alison Schmutz and Andrew Tinkler, the owners of Sportsfield Othello, for making him available for the Championships.”

The European Eventing Championships take place in Blair Castle next week with the first horse inspection taking place on Wednesday 9th of September.
