Splaine names squad for Spansih Nations’ Cup

IRISH show jumping manager Robert Splaine tonight (Sunday) announced his squad for the five-star Spanish FEI Nations’ Cup competition that will take place in Gijon on Saturday, August 31.

Gijon will see ten other nations taking part, with teams from Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Portugal, United States and the host nation Spain competing for the trophy.

With horses to be confirmed later, Ireland’s squad for Gijon, in alphabetical order, will be:
Bertram Allen
Shane Breen
Capt. Michael Kelly
Denis Lynch
Billy Twomey.

Splaine will decide upon his team of four before Nations’ Cup day at Gijon. The show’s Grand Prix will take place on Monday, September 2nd.
