2 wins for Ireland at England’s Royal Windsor

THE Royal Windsor Horse Show in England yielded two major wins for Irish competitors today (Sunday).
In Carriage Driving, 55 year-old Barry Captstick won the Horse Pairs, beating current World Champion, Hungary’s Vilmos Lazar, into fourth place by 16 points. Last week at the UK’s first 2013 national at Ashfields, Capstick also beat Four-In-Hand World Champion Boyd Exell into second place.
Show jumping at Windsor saw Tipperary’s Shane Breen and Balloon relegate British rider Peter Charles to the runner-up spot, giving Ireland victory in the Windsor Grand Prix with half a second in hand in the ten-horse jump-off.
