Allen nominated for Longines Rising Star Award

Bertram Allen has today (Friday) been named as one of six candidates for the 2015 Longines Rising Star Award to be presented by the world governing body of equestrian sport, Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), next week.

 
The twenty-year-old Wexford rider, who is competing at the five-star World Cup event in Verona, Italy, this weekend, has had a phenomenal rise to fame on the international circuit, and is currently ranked number seven in the world.
 
The Longines Rising Star Award recognizes equestrians aged 14 to 21 who demonstrate outstanding sporting talent. Along with Allen, the nominees are: Juan Matute Jr (ESP), Kelsey Russell (USA), Phoebe Peters (GBR), Jessica Mendoza (GBR) and Gina Schumacher (GER).
 
The awards will be presented in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 13th.
