Selection policy for 2025 FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses, Lanaken (BEL) announced
The FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses takes place from September 24th – 28th 2025 at the world famous Zangersheide Studfarm in Lanaken, Belgium. Athletes can fill out an Expression of Interest for consideration of Chef D’Equipe Taylor Vard for the Irish Studbooks Team Horses and Wildcards AT THIS LINK. Athletes looking to compete in the Sires Of The World are also required to fill out the Expression Of Interest form. The WBFSH have notified member studbooks that the Valkenswaard Studbooks Trophy will not proceed in Valkenswaard this year. Two new High-Performance Stallions approved
Horse Sport Ireland, on behalf of the Irish Sport Horse studbook, are delighted to announce the Approval of the high-performance stallions Rock ‘N Roll Ter Putte (BWP) and Double Pleasure (BE/SIES) for breeding in Ireland. The 8-year-old stallion Rock ‘N Roll Ter Putte is owned by GBBS International Ltd. and is currently competing with Leah Stack. The pair recently jumped their first 1.50m together at CSI4* Sunshine Tour in Vejer De La Frontera (ESP). By Diamant De Semilly (SF) and out of by Ukase Ter Putte (BWP) by Darco (BWP), Rock ‘N Roll Ter Putte is a full brother to Elvis Ter Putte (BWP) who competed at 1.60m level with Karline de Brabander (BEL), and is a half brother to Favorit ASK (BWP) ridden for Denmark by Karen Møller Rohde, and MOM’s Isaura (BWP), the 1.60m jumping mare of Peter Devos (BEL). 2025 Stallion Selections Results
2025 Horse Sport Ireland Stallion Selections The 2025 Horse Sport Ireland Stallion Selections took place over two days, the 20th and 21st of March, in Cavan Equestrian Centre. These selections are supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine Equine Technical Support fund. Across the two days, a total of 51 stallions were presented for inspection, 11 Irish Sport Horse stallions, 14 stallions from other studbooks, 1 Thoroughbred stallions, 3 pony stallions and 24 Irish Draught stallions. In the Irish Draught stallion selections 24 stallions were presented for inspection and ten achieved Class 1 status. Four stallions were Approved in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook, two of which were high-performance stallions presented for linear profiling that met all the veterinary requirements, and a further three stallions were approved in the Irish Sport Pony studbook. 2025 Stallion Selections Timetable
The 2025 Horse Sport Ireland Stallion Selections are taking place in Cavan Equestrian Centre on March 20th and 21st. This year, a total of 53 stallions will be presented for selection, including 22 Sport Horse stallions, one Thoroughbred stallion, 24 Irish Draught stallions, and 6 Sport Pony stallions. This is the first time in several years that selections have exceeded 50 stallions entered. There will also be Irish Draught stallions presented on both days of the 2025 Stallion Selections due to the numbers of stallions presenting. Horse Sport Ireland is also delighted to announce that this year, there will be a special presentation made to Moylough Supremacy (IDC1) on Day 1, Thursday, to acknowledge his recent Gold Merit award, and connections of Inisfree The Iron Cross (IDC1) will be in attendance too. Two Irish Draught Stallions awarded Gold Merits for their Showing Progeny
Horse Sport Ireland, on behalf of the Irish Draught Horse Studbook, is delighted to announce the awarding of a Gold Merit to two stallions based on their progeny’s showing results. The first of those stallions is the 2024 Champion Irish Draught Stallion from the RDS Dublin Horse Show, Moylough Supremacy (IDC1). Bred by the late John Gilboy in Boyle, Co. Roscommon, and owned by Patrick Hoare in Moylough Stud in Co. Galway. Sired by Carrabawn Cross (IDC1), this 2017 stallion is out of the Castana (IDC1) mare Ardcarne Vilamear (RID) by Castana (IDC1) and is a full brother to Moylough Legacy (IDC1). This dam line has also produced the Class 1 Irish Draught stallions; Castlegar Cool Mist (IDC1), 2014, S by Castlegar Rebel (IDC2) out of Coolagh Mist (RID) by All the Diamonds (IDC1).
