The Court for Arbitration for Sport(CAS) have today advised Horse Sport Ireland that the appeal in relation to an Olympic team place lodged by Horse Sport Ireland and Cian O’Connor has been rejected.
At this stage the CAS have only issued the preliminary judgement without providing the reasoning for the decision. It is expected that the full reasoned judgement will follow in a few weeks.
Horse Sport Ireland CEO, Damian McDonald, said that Horse Sport Ireland are very disappointed with the outcome.
“We felt that we had made a strong case and we are very disappointed with the outcome. We will await the full reasoned judgement before making any further comment on the outcome” he said.
