Co Louth’s Mark McAuley has galloped to victory in this evening’s two phase 1m45 class at Rotterdam’s five-star show in The Netherlands, just a couple of hours after Irish pair Darragh Kenny and Shane Breen filled the top two places in the opening competition at the Dutch venue.
McAuley and the 8-year-old mare Jacintha V Kriekenhof, owned by Nicole Mordasini, crossed the line clear in 33.62 seconds to take the winner prize ahead of Swedish runner-up Peder Fredricson riding Hasard (34.32). Maikel Van Der Vleuten finished third for The Netherlands with Dana Blue (34.96).
