HSI Coaching First Aid Renewal Notice

All Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Accredited Coaches are required to hold a valid First Aid qualification of the appropriate standard – First Aid Responder (FAR) or BHS Equine Specific.

As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) has allowed a grace period for renewal, however, we have now been informed that a cut-off date has been introduced.

Any coach who holds a FAR certificate that expired on or after 1^st March 2020 must arrange to attend a FAR refresher course by 31^st October 2020.

If the certificate has not been renewed by this date, the qualification will be deemed out of date and coaches will need to attend the three-day course again.

The British Horse Society (BHS) has allowed a grace period for renewal of the Equine Specific First Aid. Any coach who holds a certificate that expired on or after 1^st March 2020 has until 31^st December 2020 to renew their qualification.

Once you have completed your qualification please send a copy of your certificate to Jennifer Diamond  at jdiamond@horsesportireland.ie
