Ballypatrick Flamenco is the 2016 Irish Breeders Classic Champion

Darragh Ryan and Ballypatrick Flamenco (ISH) were the winners of this year’s Irish Breeders Classic final for 5 & 6 Year Old horses, which took place at Barnadown Equestrian in Gorey, Co. Wexford. Ballypatrick Flamenco was bred by Dr Noel Cawley in County Kildare and is owned by Greg Broderick. He is by Je T’Aime Flamenco out of the Cruising mare Cruise Leaf – a full sister to Grand Prix showjumpers Golden Exchange, Cruise On Clover and Atomic Mouse.
Mervyn Clarke took second on his own Thomascourt Senna (ISH) while Francis Connors an BP Castlefield (ISH), owned by Mary Ann Papp & Wrenwood Stables, placed 3rd.

The Irish Breeders Classic is a showjumping competition confined to 4, 5 and 6 Year Old horses. The prize fund is €50,000 which makes it the ‘Richest Young horse Showjumping Competition in the World’. LEARN MORE.
