From the 39 starters, just three made it into the jump-off, where Coyle was drawn last to go with the 10-year-old chestnut mare Tienna who is owned by Lothlorien Farm.

Canada’s Eric Lamaze was first to go against the clock with Fine Lady and they would post what proved the fastest time of the jump-off (40.27) however one fence down would see them finish third. Defending champions Kent Farrington (USA) and Gazelle took the lead when clear in 44.64 seconds, however Coyle and Tienna were comfortably faster in 42.05 to take the winners prize.

Coyle will now have his sights set on Saturday’s RBC Grand Prix, presented by Rolex at the Spruce Meadows venue.
