Dublin Horse Show kicks off tomorrow

Dublin Horse Show, Ireland’s largest equestrian event, kicks off tomorrow at the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Now in its 143rd year, visitor numbers from home and abroad are expected to hit the 100,000 mark. Over five days of competition, 14 International classes will run at the 5 star show, alongside national showjumping, eventing and showing classes. Alongside the sporting competitions, a host of entertainment and hospitality events will take place.
Horse Sport Ireland, the National Federation for Equestrian Sport in Ireland, are proud to sponsor young horse classes at the prestigious show. Kicking off a busy timetable of events on Wednesday, will be the first qualifier in the HSI 6 Year Old National Showjumping Championship, which takes place in the Main Arena at 9.10. On Wednesday afternoon the first qualifier for the HSI 4 Year Old National Showjumping Championship takes place in the Simmonscourt Arena at 16.25.
On the international showjumping calendar, the feature event for Wednesday will be the Sport Ireland Classic, which takes place in the Main Arena at 15.15. Thirteen nations will be represented at Dublin this week, with eight nations set to compete in Friday’s Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup for the coveted Aga Khan trophy.
Horse Sport Ireland will again have their trade stand located in the Main Hall and, new for 2016, the Irish Horse Gateway exhibition unit will be located in Simmonscourt – drop by and visit us at either of our locations, where HSI staff will be happy to help with any queries. A full press service will be operated ‘live from the grounds’ during Horse Show week.
