Horse Sport Ireland Autumn Development Series – Scarteen

The second Eventing competition of the Horse Sport Ireland Autumn Development Series took place at Scarteen, Co. Limerick yesterday, with competitions for four-year-olds and five-year-olds sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland.

Finishing on their dressage score of 23 to take the win in the five-year-old section was Elizabeth Power with her own Breaffy Mandela, bred by Anne Hussey. (Breeding: S Creevagh Ferro Ex Siebe (KWPN) x Kilbeg Kitty) Closely followed in second place by Kelley Hutchinson, on a score of 24.75, with her own Ringwood HSH, bred by Michael Cusack and in third place was Sophie Mullane with her own Diamond Dreamer, bred by Conor Hanly, on a score of 27.75.

It was a great day for Michael Ryan in the four-year-old class, taking two placings overall. The Carol & Tom Henry owned, My Bright Spark, took the win on a score of 23.80. Bred by Myles Somers, the 2016 mare is by Quantino out of Cavalier Forest. Michael also picked up fourth place on a score of 25.80 with JVK Eclipse, also owned by Carol & Tom Henry and bred by John Keane & Valerie Lyons.

Second place in the four-year-old class on a score of 24.80 went to Conor Coomey & the Nicholas Pomeroy owned Claragh Road, bred by Michael Byrne followed closely in third place by Alice Copithorne and her own Once Upon A Time, bred by Deirdre Connolly.
