Horse Sport Ireland clarification on disciplinary investigation

Horse Sport Ireland clarification on the disciplinary matter involving Sally Corscadden, Eventing High Performance Director.
Horse Sport Ireland (HSI), as the National Federation for Ireland, is fully committed to the welfare of our equine partners.
The position of HSI is that it fully expects and requires that there will not be any practices by any athlete, or by other persons, involving metal bars – whether during training or in any other context – with horses.
We accept the findings of Mr. Justice Frank Clarke following his investigation into whether or not a metal bar training practice adopted by, or at least under the control of, Ms. Sally Corscadden, in her capacity as Eventing High Performance Director, amounted to a breach of the rules of the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) rules.
Mr. Justice Clarke envisaged in his findings that HSI would liaise with governing bodies to ascertain if they consider that the rules need to be clarified to make clear that training practices involving metal bars are not permitted. HSI has already commenced that process.
The FEI has stated that it is fully supportive of the actions taken by HSI in pursuing this matter.
