Horse Sport Ireland Foal Championships – Meadows Qualifier Results

The first leg of the 2022 Horse Sport Ireland Foal Championships took place on Monday 29th August at the Meadows Equestrian Centre, with plenty of keen competitors in attendance.

The day kicked off with the Pony Eventing class. The winner was Helen Troughton’s colt by Masurenfuerst (TRAK) out of Connemara pony Honeyhill Freedom (CP). Reserve went to Diane Weatherup’s Westside Mirah (CP) filly, out of Ballywildrick Sylvia (CP).

This was followed by the Pony Show Jumping class, where Helen Park’s colt out of Glencaugh Gem (CP) took first. Teresa O’Hagan’s filly out of Ballydoolagh Emma (CP) came in second. Connemara Pony Carnakilly Mac Guire sired both the champion and reserve.

The Horse Eventing class was the third class of the day and Gregory McCullogh’s Cascari (HOLST) colt out of Killahurler Comfort (ISH) was champion. The Colandro (HOLST) colt out of Kilcorig Legacy (ISH) owned by Connor Wilkinson was reserve.

In the Traditional Horse category Norman Walsh’s colt by Democrat (ISH) out of Jimble Imp (ISH) was the winner, Maria Melvin’s KMS Timeless (ISH) filly, out of Glenkeeran River Deep (ISH) was the reserve.

The day finished up with the Horse Show Jumping class. First place went to Edel Reel’s Pegase Van’t Ruytershof (BWP) colt out of Carnally Lavender Belle (ISH). John Haughey’s filly out of Doblesse-O (KWPN) by Conthargos (OLD) came in second.
