Horse Sport Ireland wishes to inform all riders entered in the fifth leg of the HSI 2023 Show Jumping Studbook Series taking place tomorrow, Saturday 17th of June and Sunday 18th of June, that the following rules apply in relation to the allocation of prize money.

Due to the number of entries in all three classes, Showjumping Ireland (SJI) have left entries for these classes open until 7pm today, Friday 16th of June.

The following prize fund rules will apply:

  • In classes where there are less than 15 starters prizemoney will only be awarded to the top three competitors and the overall prize fund will be reduced by one-third.
  • In classes where than are fewer than 10 starters, prizemoney will only be awarded to the top three competitors and the overall prize fund will be reduced by half.
    • A minimum of 5 starters is required for prize monies to be paid.
  • If there are 16 or more competitors in a class, the full prize fund will apply.

This decision has been made in line with the SJI rule book 2023. Rule 7.7 below.

7.7. Where there are fewer than 15 starters, the Show Committee may limit the prizes to 3 in number and may also reduce the prize fund by one-third. Where there are fewer than 10 starters, prizes may be reduced by half and the prize fund may be reduced by half.
Where there are fewer than 5 starters the Show Organisers may run the class with no Prize Fund or may, at its discretion, cancel the competition.
