HSI Silver Spurs Semi-Finals & Finals
- 11 August 2010, 10:09
The final rounds of the ‘HSI Silver Spurs’ will take place at Marlton Stud, Co. Wicklow this weekend, August 13th and 14th 2010.
The scheme aims to identify and develop talented young riders and encourage their progress by awarding training bursaries, giving direction and advice and providing a pathway to help them achieve an international standard in their chosen discipline.
The HSI Silver Spurs qualifiers have taken place at a number of venues around the country this year, with entries across all qualifiers much improved on last year. The competition is divided into four categories; Under-12, Pony Rider, Junior Rider and Young Rider. At each qualifier, competitors rode two tests, marked in the usual manner, without the score for the rider. A separate score sheet was used for the rider, marked by the Master Judge and accounted for two-thirds of the total marks.
The top ten riders from each category will compete in the Semi Finals on Friday with the Under 12 results decided on that day. The top three in the remaining categories will compete in a ride-off the following day, Saturday 14th August. The top three riders in each category will receive a valuable training bursary package sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland.
