HSI Sport Horse Foal Qualifier Result from Region 4

The regional qualifier of the Horse Sport Ireland sport horse foal championship took place this weekend at Creagh Equestrian Centre (Region 4) on Sunday 26th July.
The Sport Horse Foal Championship aims to identify, evaluate and reward breeders who have bred a foal that has the potential to be competitive at the highest International level in the disciplines of Show Jumping or eventing.
The winning foal in each category was awarded €750 with each runner up receiving €250.
For each regional championship entries are restricted to foals born within their respective region. The top show jumping and eventing colt and filly respectively from each regional qualifier will go forward to the final which takes place at Millstreet International Horse Show on Sunday 16th August.
Region 4 – Creagh Equestrian Centre Qualifier
Eventing Foals
The potential eventing foals were first in and judged by Diane Gibson and Ger O’Sullivan. The Eventing colt section was won by James and John Meade with a colt by O.B.OS. Quality 004 (OLD) out of Sea Condios Cavalier (ISH) by Condios (HOLST). The reserve was awarded to John Nash’s colt foal by Stetter (KWPN) out of Conolin (ISH) by Radolin (KWPN).
The top eventing filly foal was won by Alex Deon with a filly by Castleforbes Lord Lancer (OLD) out of Gurraun Last Touch (AES) by Last News [USA](TB). The reserve eventing filly went to Liam Lynskey’s foal by Moylough Bouncer (ID) out of Blakes Daughter [IRE](TB) by Alderbrook [GB](TB).
Show Jumping Foals
The show jumping section was judged by Tom O’Dwyer and Liam Buckley. The colt section was won by Kylemore Stud with a colt by Ard VDL Douglas (KWPN) out of Windine (KWPN) by Heartbreaker (KWPN). The reserve was awarded to Dermot O’Sullivan’s colt foal by O.B.OS. Quality 004 (OLD) out of Aidensfield Flamenco (ISH) by Je T’aime Flamenco (BWP).
The show jumping filly section was won by Olive Clarke with a filly by Cornet Obolensky (HANN) out of Paradise G (KWPN) by Indoctro (HOLST). The reserve show jumping filly went to Michael McDonagh’s foal by O.B.OS. Quality 004 (OLD), out of Lisselton Royale (ISH) out of Cavalier Royale (HOLST).
The Northern Ireland qualifier is being funded by the Northern Ireland Horse Board and this qualifier will take place next Saturday 1st August at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, Co. Armagh.
