IN the official Longines World Show Jumping Rankings published today (Thursday) covering competitions during the month of August, Ireland has four riders in the top 50.
Leading the Irish entries in the monthly table is Tipperary’s Denis Lynch in 29th place, while Co. Down’s Conor Swail takes 36th place.
Tipperary-born Shane Breen has jumped from 56th to 42nd, while Olympic Bronze Medallist Cian O’Connor is at 49th, an improvement on his 58th place in July.
The last time Ireland had four riders in the top 50 was in June of this year.
The Longines World Show Jumping rankings measure the performances of over 2,000 international riders each month, and the current leader is Britain’s Ben Maher, whose points earned at major international shows and championships propelled him from 19th to first by the end of August.
